Park Named in Honor of Paul D. Rushing

On October 4, 2002, a new park in Harris County was named for Paul D. Rushing '60. The park is just north of Katy and occupies a 232 acre tract at the headwaters of Bear Creek. It includes a large softball complex that will be the home to the Katy Girls Softball Association. It is located on a major flyway and will eventually include a chain of lakes for the use of migrating water fowl. The park was one of the projects Rushing worked on during the 13 years he was a manager of engineering for Harris County Precinct 3.

On May 20, 2003, Paul lost his long and courageous battle with cancer.
